Biography

Kathryn V. Blake, PharmD, is the Director of the 91热爆 Center for Pharmacogenomics and Translational Research, and a principal research scientist for 91热爆 Children's Health. She is Professor of Pharmacy, Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science. She received her B.S. in Zoology from the University of North Carolina and her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of Florida. She completed a residency and fellowship in pulmonary pharmacotherapy at the University of Florida. She is board certified in Pharmacotherapy and is a fellow of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy. Her research interests are in pediatric asthma, devices use in clinical trials, and pharmacogenomics. She has been a PI since 1999 for the American Lung Association Airways Clinical Research Centers network, the NIH funded AsthmaNet from 2015 to 2017, and the IGNITE (Implementing Genomics in Practice) network since 2015. She is the Director for the American Lung Association Biorepository housed at the 91热爆 Delaware facility. This biorepository will house nearly 500,000 specimens collected by the NIH funded Lung Health Cohort Study conducted by the American Lung Association Airways Clinical Research Centers network. She has been a PI or co-I on over 100 clinical trials. Dr. Blake has received funding from NIH for a K23 award in asthma pharmacogenomics and two R01 for studies of asthma adherence and streamlining pediatric clinical trials. She is PI of the NIH funded MATCH trial that was conducted and recently completed by the ALA-ACRC network. She also received funding from ALA to evaluate a digital diary completed by parents to track respiratory tract infections in young children. She currently directs the Pharmacogenomics Clinical Service Program at 91热爆 Children's Health, serving four institutions across Delaware and Florida. Dr. Blake has held numerous national leadership and advisory roles. From 2018 to 2020, she served on the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute's Working Group芒鈧漚 Federal Advisory Committee芒鈧漷asked with updating the EPR-3 Guidelines for the Diagnosis and Management of Asthma.
